Be aware rooms in main building have very low head room until your in the rooms, but rooms are lovely and generally well maintained. Could do with a small desk or work area for business travellers. "I was only staying overnight but I was very comfortable - I am over 80 and disabled so that was very important. The only problem was that although I thought I had booked an accessible room I hadn't so it is important to talk to the reception team - who swiftly corrected that and found me an accessible room within a few minutes. I didn't like the AI receptionist who answered the phone but she is easily sidestepped by just insisting 'Manager' and you get put through. The dinner was very good."

"(Stayed in Room 2) Firstly the food was absolutely fantastic! I mean wow, wow, wow. Devoured the lot! 5* for the food. We would happily come for dinner again and again. The room was pleasant, clean and the bath was lovely and spacious (could fit two SLIM people satisfactory). Loved the tea selection and mini fridge compliments as well! However, when you opened the cupboard with the ironing board, a smell of mouldy cheese comes wafting out (so I quickly closed that and moved swiftly on) we booked...

"The worst hotel I have ever stayed at, the place if filthy, the staff are rude and never around when you need them. There was a dead rat on the floor on the way to my room, the shower is horrible and dirty, the tv in the room didn’t work and the beds are terrible. To top it off you get free parking with the room and for some reason my number plate wasn’t put into the system so they are trying to hit me with a £100 parking fine, though my car was parked there for 40 minutes which would have cost...

"I had a very pleasant stay there and the staff were very helpful. The slightly annoying thing was the bulb for the bedside lamp needed replacing and the room was very cramped. I probably won't stay the night there again but will consider having a drink and a meal there if I'm in the area."

"Beautiful building and really friendly staff. Our room was over the restaurant so very noisy but didn’t go on till late so didn’t really bother us. The bathroom could do with a tidy up. Black limescale in the toilet and bath and carpet a bit grubby. Breakfast was really good with a good choice and as much coffee and tea as you want. Overall a good visit."
