"Here's the deal with the Carambola in the opinion from someone who has been coming there for over a decade. It was once a stunning eco resort covered with tropical plants and beautiful 'bungalows' nestled into a secluded tropical cove. Then came the hurricanes and FEMA and lack of infrastructure support and hence all the very poor reviews over the past few years. The staff were very friendly however, the room was not cleaned thoroughly on arrival and I had to call the front desk several times, to take the dirty towels and replace with clean towels. "We stayed in a one bedroom cottage on the water at cane bay St Croix. The view of the water was incredible. The kitchen was well equipped and up to date. The bed and furniture were comfortable. The hosts Jay and Debra Fogg were so nice and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. They gave us information about where to eat, activities available, directions around the island. They reminded us to make reservations before we arrived. I would gladly stay there again."
