Food was delicious - we ate at the hotel for dinner - having the 'pigs' in blanket sharing starter and then both steak pies. "The Alma is set in beautiful surrounding just a 10 min down hill walk ftom a village or 5 mins in the car into a town but you feel like your away from everything The staff are all very helpful and cant do enough for you choice of food is good ( if your wanting a great sunday roast get there early as the had run out at 4pm) just pre order your sunday roast wine and coktails are reasonably priced . "It is comfortable, older hotel. Quirky even. Everyone very helpful, nothing a bother. Bedding and towels excellent quality. Breakfast was freshly cooked, and superb. Plenty of choices. It was huge, facing out across the road to the lovely old church. Road noise was minimal and the bed extremely comfy with good pillows which were not too soft, perfect for us. We slept well. "What a beautiful location. When my wife and i woke up in the morning, we watched the sunrise over the Dales. The same for breakfast as the dining room has ceiling high windows overlooking the cows and sheep grazing in the fields. The rooms are nice, clean, and quiet, and the beds are comfy. We quickly became friends with some of the other guests. The bottom line is that we had a wonderful time there. We highly recommend Throstle Nest Farm. "
