"Yvonne and Peter couldn't be more accommodating! Yvonne met us to discuss the cottage. She had nice touches to make everything cozy. It was incredibly clean! We felt at home immediately! It was a wonderful base camp for Kilkenny and several other places. We loved Portlaoise and enjoyed several trips into town ( only a 10 minute drive) We loved their dogs and enjoyed spending time getting to know them. ( Our choice, they are very respectful of privacy) I absolutely recommend their place 100%!!"

"I have to preface this with an *. I had booked the gardener's cottage but there was some sort of booking mishap and the cottage was double booked. To their credit they gave me a room in the main house which was very nice. It was technically an up-grade and there was no charge. "Place was quiet and secluded. My phone has practically 0 service and WiFi only worked for me outside. For 2 of us visiting the area for golf and stretch the Euro, it was perfect. We did run into some minor issues but didn’t get any response from Sykes management. Bathroom light stopped working during middle of our trip but we didn’t know how to get a hold of anyone and vrbo messaging didn’t work. They provide washer but there was no laundry detergent.
