"Had a brilliant time staying in this lovely property. Everything was there that was needed for our stay along with a lovely welcome basket when we arrived. It is very peaceful and still missing the great views of the Loch and countryside whilst sitting on the deck. We also did the trail biking during our stay which we all thoroughly enjoyed. "Gate Cottage is even more lovely than the pictures show - spacious and well decorated, and the setting is very peaceful, with a private side and back yard, and another grassy area across a quiet road that leads down to the rocky beach facing the Isle of Bute. The one thing to be aware of for visitors is that there's only a small (but very well stocked) market and a few restaurants, some only open at weekends, right in Kames, so you'll need to bring in most provisions from a supermarket in...

"A comfy stay for 6 people and a dog with nice views on a very quiet site. Reasonably equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, microwave, induction hob, and a selection of pots and pans. The wood burning stove is cozy, and WiFi/TV all work just fine. Shower has good pressure. Our only minor criticism was the lack of a sponge to do the dishes with, a lack of any bin bags, and a lack of toilet roll. Towels were supplied. There’s a Morrisons 22 minutes away in Dunoon and a premier corner shop 15 minutes...

"Alison and Mark, owners/hosts are amazing. Nothing was too much for them. I don't drive. Both offered to drive to the village to the shops if I needed anything. Their beautiful cottage had everything you need. An added bonus was a log burner, coal also provided. Bottle of prossecco as a welcome gift. Lovely surprise. The scenery is outstanding.. its a one bedroom rustic modern cottage. Also has heating installed. Instructions folder for all appliences and maps of the area and surrounding areas....
