"You are staying on a boat on land however it was modernised with flushing toilets and hot water and heating. Hosts Lynette and Angus were lovely and could not do enough for us, loved our welcome treats and nice touches throughout the boat. Perfect for a couple with medium size dog. "Gate Cottage is even more lovely than the pictures show - spacious and well decorated, and the setting is very peaceful, with a private side and back yard, and another grassy area across a quiet road that leads down to the rocky beach facing the Isle of Bute. The one thing to be aware of for visitors is that there's only a small (but very well stocked) market and a few restaurants, some only open at weekends, right in Kames, so you'll need to bring in most provisions from a supermarket in...

"Alison and Mark, owners/hosts are amazing. Nothing was too much for them. I don't drive. Both offered to drive to the village to the shops if I needed anything. Their beautiful cottage had everything you need. An added bonus was a log burner, coal also provided. Bottle of prossecco as a welcome gift. Lovely surprise. The scenery is outstanding.. its a one bedroom rustic modern cottage. Also has heating installed. Instructions folder for all appliences and maps of the area and surrounding areas....
