"Lovely staff, really accommodating. Went out of their way to help. Breakfast was good. Beautiful building. There wasn't much tea and coffee in the room but they would definitely have given us more if we'd asked. So thank to all the staff for a great stay "

"Food and service excellent, unfortunately the room smelt of damp really badly, the chimes from the church every 30 minutes kept me awake most of the night until I stuffed tissue in my ears, loud noise from cars passing on road, springy bed. Probably the worst nights sleep ever!"

"Great Quirky place to stay - Evening meal food was excellent and the Breakfast was great and plentiful and all cooked to your liking - The Hotel room and facilities were more than adequate - Only downside if you don't like noise is that if there are a lot of guests there booked in, then there is a lot of door banging noise but theres not a lot you can do about that Staff friendly and helpful"

"Couldn’t have wished for a nicer stay. Perfect location to travel into London with frequent trains from Harpenden station. The room was lovely and spacious. The bathroom was luxurious. Breakfast was excellent with great choice and service. Highly recommend. "

"Shabby, but not chic!! AVOID. The room was absolutely freezing and the heating went off at midnight. Not acceptable for December with a thin duvet an no blankets. The fixtures and fittings are tired, broken. The cups in the room had dirty water in them when we arrived. The bathroom tiles had mould and the whole room smelt mouldy . I opened the wardrobe door and the mirror on the front of it literally fell off and hit me. I noted the other wardrobe door had already been boarded up, so clearly...
