"The George is very good value and in a great central spot in Selby. Big room but it is a little tired. Excellent breakfast each morning with lovely cold buffet and hot breakfast to order. The bed was extremely comfortable -one of the best mattresses we've slept on away from home. Our room was directly above the bar though and it is very, very noisy until the bar closes. "What a wonderful little place. Myself and my daughter stayed here for 2 nights. There is nothing not to like about this place. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful, the room (No.6) was really nice, with a wonderful shower. We had breakfast, and it was delicious. I would definitely recommend this place, as it is close to York also. Would definitely love to return one day. "

"Delightful and quiet location and yet easy to get to all the main attractions of York city centre without the need for a car or taxi. The room and the bed were very comfortable and breakfast was really excellent. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the property is well appointed just like on the photos. "

"The single room was comfortable, clean and pleasant. It had tea making facilities, a hair drier and iron. The en suite was of a good size and private. The only draw back was the shower - it had little water pressure and the shower hose was a poor fit. I had a key to a separate entrance which gave me freedom to avoid the bar and flexibility to come and go."
