"This Ryokan was amazing. The staff were welcoming and gracious. The rooms are huge and traditional japanese style with futons and tatami mats. Each room had its own separate hot spring bath as well as separate men's and women's shared baths. The food was delicious and filling. It is located in a great small town nestled in a mountain valley. A quiet respite from the big city. Would definitely stay again! "

"The property is a delight. The manager, speaks excellent English, and his wife were both so friendly and helpful. The property is in a quiet location near beautiful Sotorua Beach. It is so calm and relaxing. Shimoda is a short bus or taxi ride away or a 30 minute work. There is only one restaurant within easy walking distance and it is excellent. Suggest upgrading to a room with a private outdoor bathroom. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay."

"This is a great value property close to Shimoda and the railway station. All rooms are slightly different in layout and are very comfortable and beautifully decorated. I booked a room with a shower for both my stays. Windows are double glazed making the rooms very quiet. There are two private onsen for the use of the guests, which are wonderful. "It was nice staying at this guest house Shirahama. It was only a few minutes drive from the Shirahama Beach. Also the restaurant was nice. Breakfast was only 500 Yen, but it was really delicious! "Staff and food were excellent. Property is old and needs upgrading. It rained overnight while we were there and the hotel leaked in corridors. Water everywhere in corridors and the stairs between floors. Rooms acceptable but not as clean as they should be. This hotel has a sister hotel across the street and that is where most of the facilities are, big onsen bath etc."
