"Excellent location, on a high hill overlooking the bay towards Agios Nikolaos. Tavernas nearby and only 20 minutes drive to Ag.Nik. Within easy reach of most areas at the eastern end of Crete. You need a car here, although there are plenty of bus stops along the main road. However, it would be a bit of a climb back up to the apartment from the road. Very friendly hospitable people. Nice pool. Charming apartment with amazing views from the terrace. "

"This self catering hotel suited us perfectly as it had a great pool which was not busy and it was only a few steps down onto the sandy beach. The towels in the room were changed daily (if we wanted them to be changed) and beds made etc. It is not the 4 star facility that some people would want, but if you do not want all the bells and whistles and just want a lovely family run self catering hotel in the best location then you cannot beat this one. "

We had great expectations for Candia based on its appointment as a 4-star resort (and high cost) and the photos on Expedia. "We had a wonderful, relaxing holiday at Koutouloufari Village Holiday Club. The apartment was fantastic, the pool area was lovely and quiet and the location was amazing - there are so many great restaurants all within walking distance. Staff were attentive, friendly and couldn’t do more for you, the whole place completely exceeded our expectations. The breakfast was great, I’d recommend including this on booking as it’s expensive to pay daily. Can’t wait to come back, thank you!"

Often difficult to get spots at the pool as well. We almost decided to go next door to the Nana Princess instead. Food was pretty good. Facilities have plumbing issues given the smells in the bathroom. Was not pleasant. Good value but not luxury. Live and learn"
