"The beach house is overall nice, as described in the listing, I believe that it was not mentioned that the upper bedroom is not separated but rather a loft, that could make a difference for a larger group. "The property has phenomenal views across the south coast of the island and the sunsets are magical. John and Claire are the kindest and most helpful hosts we have ever come across. The villa is very well appointed and furnished and set in a hidden location. A car is essential if staying here and you have to manage the steep descent to the villa although you can park at the top if you don't fancy the descent. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this villa. "

"Lovely relaxing villa in a great quiet location. Plenty to do in north of the island and a great base to venture out from. Sea front village has a supermarket, bakery, bars and some fantastic tavernas. Pool was warm, furniture comfortable only thing i would change is the loungers or for them to have a bit more padding, but a small thing that certainly wouldnt stop us returning in the future."

The villa was beautifully clean with all the essentials for our stay. George the owner was available and friendly and gave us some good advice for places to go and the best routes to drive to them. We had a great, relaxing week and would choose to stay here again"

"This unit is very clean, beautiful space, however the air conditioning, which was only 1 AC unit in the bedroom did not work. I was assured by Angie at check in that it would cool entire unit. It did not! It was 34c (93.2F) in the unit at check in, even running the AC for 6 hours never cooled below 30c (86F) in bedroom. Rest of unit was above 34c (93.2F) our entire stay. Owner solution was bringing us a fan. Owner said technician repaired AC. It never cooled. Was not repaired. Miserable...

"Amazing villa, by far the best we have stayed at. Spotlessly clean with every amenity we could have wished for. We enjoyed the huge shaded area which was perfect for chilling with a book or drying off after a swim. The local beach is very small but great for a swim or a snorkel. The directions to the villa were great and kept us off the rough tracks which a sat nav can take you via. We enjoyed the taverna at Avithos beach which has great food and lovely views. We definitely hope to return!"

"This was our 2nd stay in Villa Varkoula. It’s a simple but lovely villa, with pool and great views of hills. Very peaceful. A joy to watch the swallows/swifts dipping down to sip from the swimming pool, a few sightings of an eagle and cute bats in the evening. A car is essential, but the town of Lixouri and several lovely and not too busy beaches are all within a short drive. Perfect for a quiet getaway or as a base to explore the wonderful island of the Kephalonia."

"We were a late booking August 2023 and were so pleased with the villa and owners attention to any issues and our enjoyment. Great property in a pretty and peaceful location, just a short drive from wonderful Lixouri and beaches. As 5 adults we had plenty of room and 3 out of 4 bedrooms with en-suites was a luxury we hardly expected when searching for the villa. The only minor gripe would be fridge space. The standard fridge freezer was a little restrictive for 5 adults and would be inadequate...
