"Beautiful relaxed vibe, cool location. Not a resort, but better I think. Loved the restaurant right on the beach where you can dine with your toes in the sand. Beach has a fair amount of shade from pine trees. Nice location close to a walking/biking trail and a touristy shopping plaza. Also not very far from a ton of other restaurants and shops just up the road. The Wailua river is extremely close. The only one thing I did not like was that the room looked right onto the pool on the ground floor and people could see right in the room - would have loved to have been able to keep the blinds open. Otherwise, the staff were very attentive and accommodating. Would definitely stay there again!"

"Beautiful setting. Grounds were pristine. Pool inviting. Great location. Quiet and only the sound of the waves. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast foods to go were well stocked. Coffee pot, and coffee in room very good."

"The condo is beautiful, equipped with everything we needed and is in an excellent location. There is a convenient shopping center across the street. My only feedback would be that the air conditioning didn’t seem to be doing much. We were asked to check out at 10am sharp, but also to strip the beds and wash the sheets and towels to help out the cleaning staff which is really a big inconvenience in the morning when you’re trying to pack up a family. The owner was good about communication. "

"Super friendly, helpful staff, immediate positive response to any issue. The property itself and our room was wonderful. It was perfect for us. The downside was nightly noise from roadwork going on all night during weekdays. Some room renovations going on below us was on the noisy side as well. However, we would gladly come back and stay again. We also really enjoyed being in the historic town of Kapaa and all it had to offer. The Coral Reef was a great home base when we ventured to all the other areas in Kauai we visited. Thank you so much to everyone there for all the kindness you showed us during our 8 day stay.❤️ "

"This was our second stay at Pono Kai. First time in this unit. Really enjoyed this two bedroom with a loft. Lots of amenities. Comfy beds. Fully stocked kitchen. Great owners. Would love to return. Indeed, my daughter is lobbying for me to buy a unit. That’s high praise!"
