Midtown Kansas City and the famous Westport area is one of Kansas City’s top entertainment districts. The neighborhood is home to a number of restaurants and bars, including Kelly's Westport Inn, an Irish-themed bar located inside the oldest building in Kansas City. Kelly's inspired the main set of Malcolm & Eddie, a TV sitcom starring Eddie Griffin and Malcolm-Jamal Warner. Westport has a lively music scene, with several venues for live musical entertainment.

HISTORY: Westport was first settled by Reverend Isaac McCoy and his family in 1831, along the Missouri River. It was platted three years later, and formally incorporated in February1857. Isaac's son John Calvin McCoy is generally considered the "father of Kansas City" after he formally founded the town and then got his supplies from a rocky point on the Missouri River between Grand and Main Street that later became known as "Westport's Landing." When the landing became popular, young McCoy and other residents banded together to form the "Town of Kansas" company to buy the land.
The community thrived during the mid-1800s as an outfitter for migrants traveling any of the four now-historic trails (Oregon, California, Santa Fe and Lewis & Clark) which went through the area.
After the Kansas-Nebraska Act of 1854 and the Civil War, Westport's role as the starting point for migrants slowly declined, even as nearby Kansas City grew. It was annexed by Kansas City in 1897.
WHERE TO EAT LUNCH: With most of the 30 restaurants, 25 bars and 15 patios located within walking distances, there’s definitely no shortage of unique cuisine in Westport. Many restaurants, such as Cancun Fiesta Fresh, Mario’s Deli and Joe’s Pizza, are open for quick lunches; or sit down with friends and co-workers for lunch at Californos, McCoy’s Public House, Port Fonda and Jerusalem Café.

Kitchen: The full kitchen is on the first floor of the home and is fully equipped with all appliances, cookware and utensils. We also provide several coffee options including a Keurig coffee maker, French Press, Pour Over and a Drip Coffee Maker. K-cups, sugar and creamer are provided with every stay!
Living room: The living room is on the first floor and provides ample seating for 7 guests. The smart TV allows for guests to access Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime with the high speed WIFI.
First Floor Master Bedroom: The first floor master bedroom (yes there are 2 masters) offers a comfortable queen size bed and ample storage space for your personal items, in addition to, a full bathroom. There is also a stackable washer and dryer in the bedroom closet for guest use.
Dining Room: The dining room is small but mighty and allows for a group of 8 to eat a meal together or play a board game. The sliding glass door in the dining room leads to the ultimate outdoor entertainment area where you can access the outside dining area and the hot tub.
Outdoor Space: This is where the Oasis absolutely shines! The back deck features a dining table so you can enjoy eating outside, playing games or just hanging out. The area is fully fenced for privacy and an all new private 6 person hot tub! The hot tub is located in a fully fenced area that is for guest use only. Enjoy this area all to yourself!! (Hot tub is cleaned and serviced after every stay!)
Second floor guest bedroom: This bedroom is accessible by one flight of stairs and has a comfortable queen size bed, flat screen tv and ample storage for your personal belongings.
Second floor bathroom: The second floor bathroom has a large shower and vanity. One large bath towel and one wash cloth will be provided per guest as well as convenient make-up wash cloths. Tommy Bahama shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion provided.
Second floor master bedroom: The second floor master bedroom is the largest bedroom and has a queen size bed, flat screen tv, a jacuzzi tub and plenty of space to spread out. The second floor master also has the access for the third floor sleeping loft.
Third floor sleeping loft: The loft is only accessible by a ladder and has sloped ceilings. This area is large enough for 2 guests and one small child to sleep. There is a full size bed and large bean bag chair(not pictured). This area is not a full bedroom. It is a loft that opens to the second floor master bedroom below. It does not have central heat and air in the loft area but it does have a window unit that will both heat and cool the space.
The basement is accessible via a staircase located off the kitchen. It has a game room including foosball, Pacman, darts and wall games! This space has a queen size bed, full bathroom and little kitchenette including a full size fridge! This is a such a fun little space to hang out in! Guests that rent the entire property will have full access to this area.
Bathrooms: Two full bathrooms are on the main two levels and there is an additional full bathroom in the basement. One large bath towel and one wash cloth are provided per guest as well as dark make-up towels for convenience. All three bathrooms include Tommy Bahama luxury bath products including: shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion.
Private driveway parking is available as well as street parking.

*PETS - We do allow pets with host approval. If you are planning on bringing a pet please notify us once you complete your booking. There is a $75 fee for one pet or $100 for two that is collected once the booking is confirmed and paid in full. (Guests are required to pick up after their pet, host provides dog bag stations.) The backyard is fenced for those furry companions! There is a $500 fine for any unauthorized pets.
