"Subhas hotel is a great place to stay in Jaffna. It is located in the heart of the town and well-connected to other parts of the Peninsula and to the South by train and bus. "The property is very nicely maintained. Pool is small but clean. I stayed at the Classic room which was in the original house. Room was big but unfortunately very dark. Windows don't open. Otherwise, the room has everything. Good tea bags. The food at the hotel was good but they charge a lot of money for tax and service fee. That could be avoided. Food was tasty. "Converted Villa with 4 rooms in Jaffna suburbs. Nicely converted with pool, garden and small dining area. Accommodation roomy but with no natural light. TV with several English language channels - news and other. Good air conditioning and kettle provided. Hosts are helpful and on hand, this is definitely more of a home stay than a hotel. "Mahesa Bhagwan was the highlight of our time in Sri Lanka without a doubt - if you are tossing up whether to book, I hope this review convinces you! "The property looks like a makeshift building. Windows were covered with wooden panels, spiderwebs filled up spaces where the sunlight didn't reach, the bathroom was not clean and the mirror was bathed in calc. There's no reception to leave your bags. The chairs in the eating area are rusty and dirty."

"The building here is a bit old, and you can see the wear and tear in the space, but that just makes it interesting. This is a great, central, inexpensive space to stay when you see Jaffna. There's a restaurant below- a big cafeteria style front and a slightly hidden secret courtyard in back which is a beautiful place to spend an evening. "Reserved thro expedia for a week. When call them that we were running late and checking a bit late , the guy Rajan told no longer the reservation is honoured and cancelled. So diagusting and rude was that. We flew from Far far away ie Toronto and this is so horrible and shocking .first time we ever had to face such a situation at last minute. Who will take responsible..who will straighten up this.. is exledia do something about it.. i dont want anybody go through this in their vacation...

"The parking area and the drive was muddy. When I came back after dinner around 9.30 pm the Auto dropped me outside the gate and ended up walking in soggy mud to reach the hotel foyer. After that spent about 20 to 30 miniutes cleaning my shoes. Not enough 13 amp socket outlets. Only one socket outlet for mobile router, mobile battery charger, etc. Some corners of the room floor, walls and the ceiling were not cleaned properly. See photos."

"Mahesa Bhagwan was the highlight of our time in Sri Lanka without a doubt - if you are tossing up whether to book, I hope this review convinces you! I am so happy I booked this place and feel it was absolutely worth every penny - every time we returned after a busy day exploring Jaffna, it felt like coming home to an oasis. It is a simple and beautifully restored house but every detail of your stay is seen to. The staff at Mahesa are an absolute credit to Jetwing, they absolutely made our stay wonderful with unparalleled hospitality. They were very helpful with additional requests such as finding bus timetables and arranging tuk tuks. I recommend having a meal or two at the house - prepared by their lovely cook in Jaffna style. The breakfast was also delicious. "
