"Sad case of lovely hotel falling into decay after Covid. We four were only guests for our two day stay. Staff could not do enough but could not find booking, pool very neglected and rooms although enormous could do with a large amount of tender loving care. One I hope succeeds in the future."

"Beautiful setting. I was a bit confused about advertised lake who is actually not on the property and holds little for guests. Pool area was wonderful very quiet with trees and birds. Heinz was most helpful in sugges outings and arranging driver. A few niggles: Breakfasts like all in Sri Lanka could use some tweaking with toast presented first to go cold and items not offered but available such as tomatoes or bacon: readily provided when requested. Spider life is rampant so staff could pay more...

"The staff were excellent and extraordinary welcoming. We are an elderly couple and the staff took care of us like we were their own children. The chief went out of his way to ask me what food I liked and cooked it especially just to make us feel welcome. That was not necessary but the warmth of the team made our holiday excellent. So clean and wonderful. "

"Really, this hotel is very well kept, clean and with pretty bright rooms. The two biggest issues were:1. that we are surprisingly sensitive to poor beds. Every morning we woke in more achy than when we went to sleep. If you are not bothered by thin mattresses you'll be fine. 2. The internet is very very spotty and only available in the lobby.
