"So, after having such nice welcomes.everywhere I've ever been in Thailand, here was a bit of a shock. There is no real welcome and interaction comes across at best nonplussed, at worst rude. But if you come prepared for that and you have a room on the raft, they are lovely and are good value for the price. Once you get over the lack of interaction with anyone.... It's great! The view from the river are really lovely to wake up to."

"We stayed at grandmas for one week while volunteering at the dog sanctuary in town and we are very happy we chose to stay there. Grandma is very kind, inviting, and lovely to talk to. Her daughter is a ball of joy and very intelligent. The breakfast is top notch! We had fried rice and also some special Burmese cuisine. The bedroom and bathroom are very basic and not for picky people. (Basic mattress, squat toilet, cold shower, concrete floors). But you should stay here for the experience, and...

"Is that really a place to rent out room ? Got a room in the building, looks like a private room to rent out on busy event weekends. No toilet, have to walk across the floor to a shared toilet. Room was not prepared when we arrived, staff didn't know and had to call the owner first ... never again !!"
