We were very happy with the Tara. The best value in Thailand so far.The rooms were spacious. To be crtical some of the pillow cases were very discoloured and old.The pad thai for thirty bahts was excellent.Within easy reach of the station and river kwai.
A very good clean guesthouse. The food in the restaurant underneath the rooms has exceptionally cheap meals of excellent quality.Pad thai at 35 bahts.Within short distance of the train station and a good walk to the River Kwai.
Basis accommodation good enough for a couple night
There is practicaly no such a thing as a reception as the restaurant staff/bar attendant has finally found our booking displayed on a wall board and handed out the keys. The place is located on the main road full of the the other similar places where the expats are hanging around. If it is what you like then the Guest House is exactly what you need giving you the decent value for money, or as in our case, a basic accommodation for two nights sleep after a quite a exhausting adventure we have had in Myanmar. On a positive side the food served downstairs was quite decent and cheap.
Nice little boutique hotel, staff ok, rooms a bit dated, but for the price great value, location excellent as loads of bars and restaurants within seconds by foot,
This is a perfectly good and clean B&B, close to the Bridge and lots of eating options near by. There is also a good cafe attached with tasty, well priced meals and drinks. A good base to stay in Kanchanburi.
Only spent one night here therefore cannot comment on facilities too much. The bed however was very comfy and the hotel was in a convenient location to see things such as The Death Railway, Hellfire Pass and the Erawan Falls. Was able to book a tour to both things through the travel company located at the hotel. Toilet and shower in same small room with no window which was slightly claustrophobic but no problem and shower was good.
Stayed 1 night, prompt check in, nice friendly staff, nice clean room with all basic facilities you need! I definately recommend, would stay here again!

Good for Bridge etc
Good place with access to a pool. It is not modern, very few are in this town but sufficient for one or two nights.
Not an area I will return too, but if your going for the Bridge etc a good location and OK for one or two nights. Restaurant is good, spoke to a local ex-pat who states it's the best in town, eat there only and was good but no others tried by us
Good location. Really good value for money. Room facilities excellent. No charge to use small swimming pool next door. Only issue was steep and narrow concrete staircases between floors.

Lovely place to stay
Very welcoming staff. Room large, clean & comfortable. Bedrooms off the main road so quiet. Bonus that guests could use neighbouring hotels pool. Only downside was that breakfast was not included in the rate, even though a good restaurant was attached to the hotel
This is a small run guest house. It was very comfortable and you had use of the pool at the back which belongs to the other guest house (noble) which was nice to cool of in. Also you get a lovely view of the river. To walk to the river Kwai bridge is around 20 mins but is very hot so may be best getting a local motorbike taxi. We also rented a local taxi for the day upto hellfire pass along with other stops and dropped us of at the train station at Nom Tok to get the train back to river Kwai bridge where the taxi waited for us and took us back to the hotel. This costs 1400 baht for the day. Be warned it takes nearly two hours on the train back but worth it as the views were good.

Perfect base for Quai experience
Tara bed and breakfast was perfect for our short stay in Kanchanaburi. We simply needed a base from which we could navigate our own way to Hellfire Pass/Museum, death railway and Bridge over the River Quai and it worked well for this.
The rooms were large, great AC, wet room, two free bottles of water each day. It was clean and spacious and the bed was huge and comfortable- apart from the dip in the middle (two beds pushed together).
Staff were smiley and friendly and helped us very much with giving clear instructions on using public transport to navigate our trip. They also easily organised a 180TB minibus ride for us to Mo Chit in Bangkok for our flight to Chiang Mi.
free wifi and a cheap breakfast as well!
Situated at the end of a street of bars and hotels/hostels: a good 20 minute walk to the Bridge and about 10-15mins to night market.
Stayed here for just one night, but would of stayed longer if we had the time. The room was nice and clean. Location was great with lots of tasty places to eat in the area. Would definitely stay here again
