"Bosenkan mean Riverview Inn, and it really offers a fine view of the Hida River. This is a traditional Japanese style place, with tatami mat rooms, nice yukata robes for guests, and a very nice indoor outdoor communal bath. I highly recommend it if you are staying in Gero Onsen, one of Japan's big three famous spas."

"We stayed in the traditional Japanese room. The room was exceptional. The river view from our private outdoor bath was relaxing. The staff was attentive. Service was top notch. Would highly recommend this hotel for a quiet, rejuvenating stay. "

"We’ve just spent two wonderful nights, here, and everything has been perfect. The hotel is miles from anywhere so you either need a car or use the hotel shuttle bus to ferry you to and from the nearest station. The staff are so friendly and helpful. "If you see this review. Just book it if is within your budget. They take care of everything once you stepped into Gero station. Jus hopped into any Taxi waiting at the station and your retreat begins. We stepped into the inn and didnt think of going any where until our check out time. "

"I came to Gero on a recommendation from a close friend. I somehow missed it when I had done a previous Takayama trip and I am glad I came back. The town is very small and the hotel is easily walkable from the station, some people say 15 mins but it was more like 8-10 mins and that was while stopping to take pictures of the Hida river. "NO TATTOOS. Is the first sign you see when checking in. Perhaps if you have a small discrete tattoo, they will still permit you to use their hot-baths on site. Ideal for couples, seniors, less so for families with children. The beds were quite hard. The in-room food service was very good, as was the breakfast buffet. Both indoor and outdoor onsen was very nice, with the outdoor one having a nice view of Gifu Castle. "

"What an amazing hotel, staff greeted us outside the hotel and knew who we were even though we didn't tell them what time we were arriving. They checked us into our traditional Japanese apartment complete with an outdoor onsen, but not before my girlfriend got to choose her Yakuta to wear. "A great room for a good price. It is a ryokan so expect a traditional Japanese straw floor room, however it was a much larger room than I expected. "Lovely views from the public baths (separate for men and women) to the lake. The decor was dated but the room was comfortable and the food was good. A beautifully presented Japanese dinner and a choice of Japanese vs. western style breakfasts. "

"Nagataki was better than a hotel stay. We stayed for one night before walking the Nakasendo. We had our own little Japanese cottage set in a lovely garden. Meals were served in our cottage and were simply amazing. The food presentation was a work of art and absolutely delicious and inventive. "Absolutely amazing stay at this Ryokan. We stayed one night as part of a 3-week Japan trip and it felt like a holiday within a holiday. Everything impeccable, friendly service and fantastic comfort. The meals were out of this world good, our room had a private Onsen which was amazing, but there's also an outdoor Onsen which you can enjoy at pretty much any time. Lovely stay!"

"The walls are paper-thin, you can hear neighbor's TV. There is a smell of mold in the room. The shared bath was not clean. The futons are very thin as well. The communal toilet slippers were disgustingly dirty, and no other slippers inside the hotel were provided (you walk on very old carpets and floors in the hotel hallways barefooted). "Such an amazing shower area plus good water pressure. Love that the sink, shower/tub, and toilet were all separated. Very clean. Cool free public bath but no tattoos allowed. Sadly lol high recommend! Small room but most rooms in Japan are small :)"

"Very delighted to be served by the chinese speaking Miss Li. Thanks for your assistance in our check-in. The location is actually convenient for as is in the heart of the main shopping belt of Nagoya. Is between 2 subways station that is going to different part of Nagoya, making it an ideal place for tourist. If there is one thing I am disappointed is that it only give us one time complimentary wine for our few days stay. That perhaps can be revised to one complimentary wine for every night stay. "

DEL style NAGOYA-NAYABASHI by Daiwa Roynet Hotel

"Stayed at this neat wonderful stylish hotel on my recent stay in Nagoya. For the price it was a very good deal and in a really urban part of Naka Ward and few minute drive to Nagoya Station. Also, literally next to a Mega Don Q and surrounded by restaurants and konbini (convenience stores). Staff was also friendly and courteous and made me feel comfortable. Did lots of walking to the shopping district, Nagoya Castle and to parks / museums which were all in the vicinity of the hotel. I really recommend this hotel to travelers on a budget (or not cause they have bigger & more expensive rooms) and want to be in the middle of all the action. When I return to Nagoya I will definitely stay at this hotel again!"
