This was a great stay on Kamala beach area, well run establishment with pool & restaurant & helpful staff. Great location with convenient shops in the area- all u need and tours as well. 1st hotel establishment I stayed at : did not provide in-room coffee which is a common staple in all accommodations.

Lovely small locally owned hotel

Between narrow tourist street and beach - you can watch the world go by over breakfast, lunch or dinner and walk out the back straight on to the beach. Family run by locals. Simple but clean rooms. Perfect if you want to avoid large chain hotels.

We had 15 days staying in Kamala Dreams hotel It was a fantastic holiday the spacious beautifully serviced (every day) room with the superb pool (with a spa) just 2 meters from our room an excellent breakfast every morning the property had been recently refurbished and is in great condition Jan the manager really knows how to run and manage the hotel and was extremely helpful and excellent to deal with thanks Jan for making our stay so enjoyable we will be back again Murra and Annette Guyton New Zealand

Clean and close to the beach

The hotel has back access straight into the beach which is great. The staff are polite and my room was always in great condition (towels and room cleaned very nicely everyday). Breakfast is a choice of eggs,toast, bacon/sausage or myself, yogurt and fruit with tea/coffee and juice. You pay for what you get!

Good Value for Budget Conscious

Situated in the heart of Kamala this boutique guest house offers good sized studio accommodation with great views. Only drawback is the rooms get quite stuffy late in the day and the old air-conditioners are working tirelessly (and noisily) in order to cool the rooms down.

Very sweet staff who is kind to animals and that’s a big plus! The restaurant serves good food, but somehow it needs some cozy lighting and good music thus more people come and eat there in the evening instead of choosing the restaurant on the other side. Home away from home

1. Reasonably priced meals at Beach front cafe & resort **** 2. Resort room was comfy enough though. 3. Air-con is a bit noisy at times but bearable. 4. Guests must bring own tooth-brush. 5. Shopping & amenities nearby. 6. Staff are courteous.

Nice, but old beds!

Great place, next to the beach. Wonderful restaurant, Dreams. The girls working there, housekeeping, are really nice and friendly. Although the bed is really old so you can feel the bed springs. Terrible. I ended up paying for an extra bed and had the beds on top of each other. The swimming pool is nice, but not the cleanest.

Ok

We felt that this hotel didn't look as good as the photos would suggest. The owner was very friendly and the hotel has direct access to the beach but we decided that Kamala was too quiet for our likings and left straight away. The owner said he would have given us some money back but we booked through this website so he couldn't. If you are looking for a basic place to stay and a relaxing beach then this would be fine. For us, we prefer more options for restaurants and shops and were used to newer hotels at a cheaper price (to be fair we had just come from Patong).

Wasn't really sure on first arriving as this hotel is attatched to a little restaurant so there is no reception etc, you simply come off the street into the restaurant. It's kind of hard to know who to ask for help if needed. Hotel room was nice, very basic but we didn't spend much time in it anyway, no safe or tea/coffee making facilities. But apart from that we had a lovely stay, great location right beside the beach and some fantastic places to eat nearby, also they let us stay well after check out as we had a very late flight so being able to freshen up after a day on the beach before travelling was very well received.

Ask for the beach view room!!!

First off I'd like to write that Amy (the owner's daughter), is an AMAZING hostess and manager! I worked in the hospitality business for 17 years of my life at The Plaza Hotel in New York City, what this family owned establishment showed me was just phenomenal. Jan, the owner was MORE than one can expect (he knows my slight problem while I was there) and was an absolute help in accomodating me. Will I return??...OH YES I WILL!!! Thank you all at Kamala Dreams, Jan and Amy...I THANK YOU BOTH even more!!

Fantastic location but other things could displeas

Awesome location to beach and my room was spacious with a great outlook over the sea and a cute poolside below - but it’s caught in a timewarp. It hasn’t been updated in too long. Staff also y need to be retrained and updated in what’s now acceptable in hospitality. For example - room is clean but shutter door to bathroom has dusty parts and kitchen surfaces are clean but food sits out uncovered for far too long. I’ve seen negative reviews but Thailand’s a SE Asian country with laid back pace and different culture. Great value here if you can ignore the said negatives but this hotel may be difficult for those who aren’t. Apart from manager staff have limited English and are friendly but reserved (take time to warm up to you). What’s difficult is absence of General Manager who is away a lot but needs to be there for staff morale and the various issues staff can’t deal with. Having said that he's a likeable chap. One main reason for booking this Hotel was its free wifi which was reported as being very good. I needed access for completing arrangements to deadlines but couldn’t get internet and despite repeated requests it wasn’t sorted. Staff didn’t want to reset internet to my room and many requests for manager unsuccessful. However, I’m right on a beach for sun, sea and relaxation so enjoyed those instead.
