When asked for the room we booked we were shown an incredibly run down version of it in a building that was undergoing repairs so we opted for the room they initially assigned. It costs $50000 UGX to get a ride to town so we felt a bit trapped but I’m sure people accustomed to resorts are used to this. "I stayed 2 nights in a Mirembe cottage- my friend had the cottage next door and we had a dedicated outside eating area, from where we were served our food.We were served by James who was consistently courteous and efficient .We felt like film stars on a tropical island as we ate delicious food sitting by the lake watching a wide variety of birds - it was just such a treat!"
