"This place was very welcoming, the host and the ambiance made me feel immediately at home. Everyone was friendly and kind. Right on the harbor so really pretty little walks right around the place. "This is a really quirky property. Starts at the front door. Super convienient for catching the ferries. Basically 150 metres away, but you hear no port noise. Loved the stay and booked it for when we are leaving the South Island as well. Very freindly and helpful staff. Free breKfasts are a good bonus."

Dislike: Thought we booked en suite but only a double was allocated. The advertised free shuttle to ferry was not available and hasn’t been for years. Spa out of order. "We enjoyed our stay at this lovely family bach in Ngakuta bay. Location was great, right on the water, Ngakuta loop trail, and the link trail. We enjoyed the toys and game room. This is a classic kiwi bach and you need to bring your own sheets and towels. We did not hear back when we inquired about the possibility of renting linens. The property is what we expected from a kiwi back and we really enjoyed our stay. "
