The set menu evening meal was outstanding and great value - make sure to add it for one night! The onsen facilities at the hotel and in room bath were excellent. "This is a larger complex but it felt like a cozy ryokan throughout, especially in the rather large Japanese style room that I had. Staff speak little English but were friendly enough to work around my poor Japanese."

"Staff are very polite and helpful. Best part is the hotel is only 5 mins from JR Yamagata station, very convenient. There is also a bus terminal at the train station with buses to various attractions like Zao onsen etc. Only down part is the pillow was very flat, hence not comfortable to sleep on."

"Wrhis was our second time. We stayed here last year in March also liked this hotel very much, especially after staying at the hotel where the real estate was very expensive; so, we not only didn’t have a closet, or space to walk to get to other side of the bed."

"We loved: (1) the spotlessly clean and spacious room and communal areas (2) the view of trees and the sound of the river outside our room (3) relaxing in the hotel's indoor and outdoor hot spring pools (4) helpful staff. The only thing that could be improved would be teabags (お茶 or black tea), either for free in the room or to purchase from the front desk."
