"Cabin was clean, nicely decorated and spacious. It had everything we needed for our three sisters trip. We had ample room. Hot tub was an extra bonus we all enjoyed. Neighborhood was quiet. I would love to recommend this property to others and would definitely rent again if in the area. "

"We were expecting a simple, quiet cabin in the woods for a brief get away. Although listings often use flowery adjectives like luxurious and cozy, this one was truly a standout. High-end kitchenware, unique and regionally appropriate decor and art, leather furniture, a Pendleton wool blanket for the couch and so much more made us immediately feel like a welcomed guest at a friend’s home. It was perfect!"

"We rented this cabin so we could meet up with our granddaughter (from Nashville area) to do some hiking. It was perfect for us! We were easily able to drive to Giant City for hiking and dinner. We also drove a bit further to hike at Tunnel Hill and Cache River State park. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances and utensils. Even though there were several cabins around us, we felt like we had plenty of privacy. We'll definitely be staying here...

"We booked this cabin for an anniversary weekend getaway. Everything about the cabin was perfect! We enjoyed the trail behind the canin. We also enjoyed hiking at nearby, Giant City State Park. Southern Illinois is beautiful in the fall. We hope to be back and highly recommend to others."

"I have nothing but gushing reviews for my Makanda Cabin stay. The cabin was easy to navigate to. When I opened the door I found a clean, comfortable, well appointed place, with two good size bedrooms, living room with fireplace, a bathroom stocked with plenty of towels and soap. There was a basket full of treats on the kitchen table. Hangers were in the closets, luggage rack and lots of shelves to organise wedding and hiking clothing. I could truly relax there. "My husband and I recently were in Southern Illinois for a few days celebrating our daughter's birthday. She is enrolled at SIU, Carbondale. We had a wonderful time visiting the wineries in the area, hiking and biking. The cabin was absolutely perfect and we had everything we needed and more. We found the cabin conveniently located to the activities we wanted to engage in. We were impressed with how clean the cabin was and would absolutely stay there again!...in fact we just recommended to family...

"We booked this location for a 70th birthday celebration. It was perfect for our needs- well appointed and spacious enough for 3 adult couples and a teen. We prepared two meals at the cottage and found the kitchen to be stocked with all the appliances, dishes and utensils we needed. The view of the lake was beautiful. It was especially hot the weekend we visited- all three generations were grateful for the exceptional air conditioning unit. We will definitely consider booking this property again...
