"Really good little basic hotel, I was impressed! They have fixed up an older hotel, so it's not brand new, but it was very clean and in good shape. Large comfortable bed and good sized room and bathroom area. Bed linens/blanket was warm, so I was fine even though it was a chilly night. The added touches impressed me. Retro style fridge and microwave that fit into the overall retro car theme. They give you locally made cookies at check-in, which is such a nice touch, and two little toy cars I can bring for my friends kid. Very polite workers at the front desk too. I was worried about noise as a motorcycle guy parked right in front of my room (the place seems like it attracts motorcyclists with the theme too), but he was very nice/respectful, and when I left at 7am he had already left - and literally didn't even wake me up, so no obnoxious engine revving or whatnot! I didn't hear any highway noise either in my room. Very convenient location for my Hearst Castle Day. I had dinner in Cambria, about 10 mins away, as it has more choices to eat, but San Simeon is a better location. One issue I did notice is that the bathroom tub had mildew, where water gets stuck above the tub - the property owners should just scrape out the old caulking/sealant and put new one, its an easy fix for a common problem. Otherwise the place was very clean, I'd happily stay there again. "

"Amazing view in room 41. Can’t beat the location at Ragged Point. Although the property has small imperfections and could probably use a face lift in certain areas, the cleanliness, accommodating staff, and ultra quiet and scenic location make up for all of that. "

"Have never felt more welcome . The owner/manager even remembered our name the next day. Food quality and flavor was the best I have ever had in a motel. Cookies were so good I kept going back for more. And they were there!"

"We decided to stay over here before continuing to San Fransisco after doing a tour at Hearst Castle close by. The Hotel is named after the Castles architect. It is conveniently located next to the main road, though we could figure out how they post photos of the hotel next to the Ocean, when its not. One can easily stay here longer of you want to tour the region more"
