Family owned and operated, this relaxing home sits on a large estate with tropical foliage, private pool, secure parking, patio's, mango's and magical sunsets....It sits secluded and private, yet close to everything in town, the home is situated on the Pacific coast on the south side of sunny Jaco, 1.5 hours from the SJO airport, offering an incredible location, views, cool ocean breezes, nature, security and only 2 walking minutes to our beautiful sandy beach (just across the road) with Jaco only 10 minutes by foot or 3 minutes by car.

ALSO PERFECT FOR LONGER STAYS UP TO 3 MONTHS. The villa sleeps 6-8 adults & 3 teens/children/baby comfortably. It is spacious, bright, clean & cheerful with two levels, the main floor with full kitchen & eating bar, living room, bathroom & bedroom. The upper floor offers a kitchenette with sitting area, bathroom, large master bedroom and second bedroom with a spectacular ceiling, crafted from native wood.
A lovely upper balcony extends off the kitchenette, a great place to enjoy your morning coffee while listening to the Toucans or having a evening cocktail, taking in the beautiful sunset.
The villa offers television and internet as a convenience for our guests, with

Enjoyed our stay. The house was fun. Liked having the pool alot. Jose was awesome. Always there when we needed him for things like taxi calls and spider removal, and any other questions or things we needed. Enjoyed using the bar, restaraunt and beach across the street to break things up. If you have any mobility issues this place may not be for you. The road to get across the street is more of a highway. You are also crossing at a curve. Pretty scary when my back locked up with a tractor trailer coming.

Great getaway location!
Excellent support from Alana & Jose. House was clean and ready for us upon arrival. Was great to have our own space with each of our kids in their own room. Pool was a great option for easy entertainment and a quick cool off. Nice to have access to the resort across the street for spa services, beach access and great food. Walked to town almost every day, about 20 minutes each way. Some road noise but you get used to it.

We enjoyed staying at this property. It was a good place for our family of five to relax on our vacation. We relaxed by the refreshing pool and also took advantage of the access to the beach through the hotel across the street from the property. Alana was available to help us with questions we had about certain aspects of the home as well as local activities, and she had an onsite caretaker to help us as well. The property was central to activities that we wanted to do as a family - we visited the Tarcoles area for the crocodile experience and ventured down to Manual Antonio National Park too.

Lovely stay
Enjoyed Casa de Mariposas very much with my wife and three teenagers. Lots of charm and character in this well-equipped and sparkling clean villa. Although it's on a main road and you can hear some occasional traffic noise, it feels very private and close to nature. While sipping morning coffee on the patio, we watched macaws fly overhead, hummingbirds explore nearby flowers, and a crab scuttle through the garden. Proximity to Jaco is a real plus. We didn't meet Alanna in person, but she was a delight to deal with by email and phone.

We had a marvelous time in Jaco. The house was perfect for our family and in a great location. Alanna was very helpful. The po was delightful. It is such a bonus to be able to walk across the street and swim and use the beach at Hotel de Mar. We also got messages and ate at the restaurant at Hotel Del Mar. It took only 20 minutes to walk on the beach to Jaco. And a 5 minute taxi back. We would recommend the Mangrove Monkey tour. So wonderful. Thanks Alanna for a great stay.

Casa de Mariposas was absolutely the best home we've stayed in. Alanna was on top of everything. She arranged pick up from the airport, which was where we met our best new friend, Gregory! He was a Godsend! The house was beautiful and just right for the 6 of us. Jose took care of a minor AC problem within minutes of our message. Perfect Home for a Wonderful Vacation!
Alanna, Thank you so much for a wonderful time at your home. We enjoyed the quietness and privacy of not being in a Hotel or Resort, but yet had access to Hotel Club Del Mar across the street. Their restaurant was fantastic and their workers were very friendly and helped with anything we needed, by day 2 they knew us very well. LOL The Amenities of your home were exactly what we needed, and the relaxation everyday in your pool or just lounging in your chairs was exactly what we were hoping for. We enjoyed hiking behind your home several times during the week. All the birds and butterflies all around were beautiful! We loved watching the Toucans and Macaws fly over too. They are absolutely gorgeous. We never saw a monkey or sloth, but we did find out at the end of the week we should have been hiking in the morning sometime between 6-8am, that this is the best time to see them. We loved the sunset hikes, the views were gorgeous! We tried walking to town, but with the heat it was just too much, so we started calling for an Uber everytime we wanted to go. They were quick, trustworthy, and very inexpensive to get to town. Willie's transportation to and from the airport was great. He was fun to chat with and get to know. LOVED crocodile bridge. What a site to see! Willie was very accommodating in taking us to a food store before getting to the house too, that really helped us alot. For our adventures we did Ziplining with Vista Los Suenos Adventure Park, what an awesome team they are and made the adventure a blast! We also did Tortuga Island with Costa Cat Cruises, by far the best experience you will have! They made the day perfect from the time you arrived till you departed, made us all feel like family for the day. Thank you again Alanna for having this home available for rentals. We can't say enough good things about it. We do hope one day we can return.

The property is gorgeous, house very authentic CostaRican, beautifully decorated, extremely clean.
Casa de Mariposas is a hidden gem in Jaco, Costa Rica. The house is Beautiful, very clean and well decorated. The gracious owner, Alanna, has thought of everything for your comfort, including chocolates by your bedside! The layout of one bedroom downstairs and two up made it very comfortable for our three generation family, lots of privacy. And having our own pool was a bonus. We also had the privilege of using the resort across the street which included a delicious restaurant, large pool with plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas, plus the ocean steps away. And we were only a short ride from the town of Jaco, a fun place to walk around and eat at its many restaurants. The care taker, Jose, is on the premises and always available if needed at any time. We could not stop saying how lucky we were to have found such an exceptional house in a wonderful area, owned by the nicest and charming lady ...Alanna is so special. This was one of our best vacations ever! And we spent an entire month enjoying it all, entertaining our children and grandchildren, never tiring of our beautiful surroundings. We look forward to coming back again soon!

Clean, secure family vacation!
As experienced travelers who prefer to travel to new destinstions each vacation, it is unlike us to return to the same place twice. However, from the moment we arrived in Costa Rica, we felt "at home". Casa De Mariposa is a clean, beautifully decorated, recently updated, secure and conveniently located property. We traveled with another family, their two children and our two year old daughter, and the house was large enough for both families to have our own space. Allana went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and communication with Allana was a quick text message away. Check in was effortless as the caretaker was waiting for us! First and formost, the house is gated and secured. Jose, is the caretaker on the propery. He is very kind, helpful and takes great care of the property. We even invited him to spend New Years with us! Jaco beach is right across the road and the town of Jaco with the best restaurants is within walking distance , or a 3 dollar cab ride. We hiked Miro mountain which is right behind the house. During our hike we saw a tribe of monkeys who later came to to Villa . While grilling and enjoying the outside living space we watched Mascaws, toucans and many other birds. An added bonus is the resort across the road. I had two of the cheapest and best massages of my life there. As well, we spent lots of time in the resorts pool which has a shaded kiddie pool! We hired a cab and went to Manuel Antonio Park, which was an amazing experience. If you're looking for a place close to Jaco without being right in a middle of the busy town, this is the place for you. Our families both enjoyed our visit and look forward to going back and renting from Allana! Pura Vida!

Very clean and beautiful villa!
The house is decorated beautifully! The private pool is perfect for the afternoons. The beds were very comfortable! The house was very clean and Alanna met us at the house to show us around when we arrived. We walked across the street and were in the ocean in less than 5 minutes! We will definitely be back!

Beautiful home in Jaco!
We enjoyed our stay in this fun home. It's a great spot for exploring the areas around Jaco and Hermosa. The owner has attended to every detail - she's a delight and was so kind and accommodating. We loved not being in a typical hotel, coffee on the porch in the morning was awesome!

Beautiful villa in a truly private setting
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa de Mariposas! It is a great place to stay near the beach, which is just a couple minutes walk to across the road. The resort across the road can be visited for pool and meals. Thanks to Alanna we loved every moment in the villa. The rooms and beds are all comfortable and the villa is fully equipped with all that is necessary. You can even play music on the nice music system in the living room. The swimming pool outside is another nice touch and very enjoyable. We would love to return!
