"Nice hostel in Otaru! Owners are friendly and willing to help out any questions you may have. No kerosene heaters required although there was a small one in my room that I used for a nightstand, not sure why it was there because there was also a wall mounted modern Hitachi ac/heater unit that was quiet and worked perfectly. This was my first hostel stay so the only thing I needed was a larger bath towel that was easily purchased a short walk away. Will be back!"

"Hotel.com staff were useless and unhelpful! The hotel is expensive ; losy room; share bath room; not lift ( not user and invalid guest friendly) poor breakfast."

Just a few minor gripes, which are feedback for the hosts who were great: Most of the doors are too low, everyone bumps their head at least once. No secure lockers. Communal areas could benefit from more seating, which would encourage people to hang out. The kitchen (if you can call it that) could be improved. No need for any cooking equipment, but better / more seats and tables, would make the place much...
