A magical treehouse perched over its own gorge on Cayuga Lake. This place is special! There’s a giant porch wrapped around a 300-year oak tree and a lakeside tea house that can serve as an extra bedroom. There’s a dock, fire pit, room for yard games by the water, plenty of outdoor seating on the porch, by the lake, or on the dock. All of this is minutes from downtown Ithaca, Cornell, and Taughannock Falls state park. It’s also a great base to explore the Finger Lakes wine region.
The core of the home dates from 1890 has been expanded over the years with a distinctive architecture that preserves the original elements of the home. The home is thoughtfully decorated in an eclectic style that ties you to Ithaca and the lake. There’s a well-stocked kitchen and plenty of places to entertain indoors and out.
For movie nights, there’s a high definition projector and 80-inch screen.
There’s off-street parking for three cars.
Guests have access to the whole property and house. The house is located on an acre that slopes from Taughannock Boulevard down to 100 feet of frontage on Cayuga Lake. There’s lots of space inside and out for guests to socialize, including a large dining table on the giant porch, a fire pit, a picnic table on the dock, and a small yard by the lake.
Please respect our neighbors and do not go past (or allow pets to go past) the no trespassing signs on either side of the beach.
We’re available by phone anytime to address any concerns you may have, but guests check in and out on their own and have privacy during their stay.
We do employ a landscaping company which may need to cut the grass, clear leaves, or plow the driveway during your stay. We do our best to give guests advanced warning, but please be patient as we try to keep the property in great shape for you to enjoy.
The house is along the west shore of Cayuga lake in the Town of Ithaca. It’s a short drive to downtown Ithaca, Cornell University, and Taughannock Falls. It’s also a great base to explore the Finger Lakes wine region.
You need a car to get to the house. The driveway is steep. There’s room for three cars at the bottom of the driveway or two at the top (in case of snow or ice).
To protect the lake, our wastewater is pumped up to the sewer on Taughannock Blvd. To protect the pump, please do not put anything into sinks or drains except for the “Three Ps.” No wet wipes, please!
