"On arrival at 13.00 we were told that we could not have our room key until 14.30. Fair enough although most hotels that we have stayed in have been flexible on this point. Asked if they had a room for luggage while we went for lunch. No but we could leave it in the lounge. We left it and decided to go out for lunch. when we returned at 14.30 we were given the key to our room which was on the second floor despite requesting a lower floor room. "Cottage in centre of the village with a view of the historic church. Isla is a lovely historic village with a couple of bar/restaurants that were really good. The cottage was OK for our stay and a good base to visit the Cantabrian coast and mountains. Good size clean and tidy with plenty of towels and good bedding etc.. It's a little bit dated and needs some TLC to bring it into the expectations of 2023. Had a couple of problems with things that didn't work but lived with that rather than...
