"Our three night stay was a highlight of our three week Japan visit. The staff was so kind and so friendly. Especially Iyaka and Ling. Our room was large and the western beds were comfortable. The shuttle bus was very convenient running from the Kiso train station to the property. The meals were delicious. This was our first stay at a ryokan. The food was served with an explanation and instructions on how to handle the hot pots and mini table grill. We enjoyed wearing our cotton yukatas and slippers to the meals. It really changes the dining experience and brings it to another level. The onsens were very clean and enjoyable. We used both the indoor onsen which we reserved for private use and the outdoor onsen. Sitting under the stars, soaking in the rock lined onsen after a day walking the Nakasendo Trail is an experience I'll never forget!"

"Very close from JR station. Also close to Lake Suwa. The large public bath has natual hot spring water and almost anytime we can take it. The complementary breakfast is super rich. It's buffet and serving japanese and western, many kinds of dishes."

"Excellent location overlooking the lake. The food at the hotel is authentic. There is also the possibility to rent bikes directly at the hotel. Very polite staff."

"There are 6 onsens total (2 outdoors, 2 indoors, and 2 private), everyone single one had amazing views. The staff is incredible and so accomodating! I love the personalized touches by the staff. One downside is there are a lot of spiders and roaches outside (definitely none in our room) but that's not a hotel issue and unavoidable since the onsen is in a pretty remote area. "

"Perhaps be more flexible on check in time. It was drizzling n cold. We arrived at 14.10 but were not able to chk in as the staff said the room was not ready. Otherwise everything was perfect n highly recommend"

"There are a lot of clutter in the hotel lobby, which makes it feel messy. The hotel looks a bit old, though it is clean. I arrived at the hotel after 10 o'clock at night. When I entered the door, I couldn't see the check-in counter. I went to a counter on the right. There was a card showing “ 百名湯認定証 ”, and add water room “加湯室” was behind the counter. I was about to search everywhere I could in the hotel, when suddenly I saw a man at the far end of the left side, so I chased after him and asked if he was a hotel staff. It turned out that the checkin counter was on the left, and I turned the wrong direction and went to the right. I was indeed frightened at that time when I couldn’t see anybody. Checkin was smooth with the help of the staff. If I haven’t been to the wrong direction, everything would be fine. The breakfast is delicious, and it is a semi-self-service style. Milk, rice, miso soup, bread, tea, etc. are all available for self-service. The mountain view from the restaurant is great."
