"Great 1 night stay at The Old Mill. Check in was smooth greeted by one of the team in reception. Room was clean and comfortable. Pillows were a bit too firm but just my view. Food in restaurant was some of the best pub food I have had for a long time and good value. Restaurant was surprisingly busy for mid-week and good to see. Breakfast also was the same great quality. Will definitely be back!"

"A lovely welcome to a lovely, remote Old Mill house..! The place is beautiful but needs a little TLC which works are being carried out now. The room was OK, big enough but a very cold bathroom - no heat in there at all.. The bed was old & creaky but clean & we slept OK. Tea & Coffee in the room. Bar area and breakfast was first class - always served with a smile. Open fire in bar area made it very cosy. We would stay again. Would love to see the place a little busier which I'm sure it will be...

We will stay again when visiting Durham. We tried to go back for sunday lunch after our checkout but the car park was completely full reflecting how popular the three horseshoes is. A very enjoyable 2 night stay and there was a lot more on the menu we would have liked to have tried. Next time!"

"Well. What strange accommodation. Booked 2 nights about 3 weeks prior to going. When we arrive nobody there. We rang and got told she didn’t realise we were staying then admitted she hadn’t checked any emails. We were told to go next door to get her elderly mum to come and unlock. Her lovely mum bless her had shall we say had memory problems. Anyway. We were sitting in her house being baby sat by an old lady as we weren’t aloud in house by ourselves. "My partner and I stayed for an evening while visiting Durham. The room and staff exceeded our expectations. Both the bedroom and bathroom were tastefully designed and extremely spacious. We were lucky enough to have a view of the cathedral. Breakfast was of very high quality and served in a very pleasant environment. The staff were very polite and sought to help us at every opportunity. Would love to visit again. "
