Nice Place With Some Flaws
This place is conveniently located on the town perimeter. Within a 20 minute walk, one can reach the beach and main tourist area of shops, dining, and bars. Convenience stores are close, and the larger Villa, Tops, and Tesco grocery stores are 20-30 minutes walk.
Coordination and booking with owner Navid was excellent, as was on-site housekeeping and the dedicated representative help from Sopa.
The 8 story building is well serviced by 2 elevators, a nice pool, secure parking, nearby filtered water dispenser, and day time friendly, helpful front office staff.
My booked room of 502 was changed to 501 upon arrival. Both are comparable and adjacent to each other, offering 5th floor west facing mountain views.
My 1 BR unit was modern, clean, roach free, well sized, and included a large balcony off of the living room and bedroom. The full glass wall of both rooms allowed in good ambient light, as well as afternoon sun and sunset views over the nearby mountain. The furnishings, kitchen, and bath supplies were adequate, with a generous supply of good towels provided. I found the AC working good, cable TV with some English and movie channels, and the wifi fast and reliable.
The unit had some flaws worth noting for a complete review.
First, the lack of an iron and board was an unnecessary inconvenience (since they're inexpensive purchases frequently needed by guests).
Second, the loose shower head holder and poor Thai design was a daily inconvenience for bathing.
Third, the place was obtrusively noisy from extremely loud trains rolling by and blowing their horns throughout the day and evening. (At night, few trains passed and the trains refrained from blowing their horn). There was also daily construction noise, but the biggest problem was the bar music that permeated the room almost every night til at least 12:30, and often later. It forced me to wear headphones just to watch TV on my tablet and to get to sleep.
Fourth, this particular room was the most hazardous apartment I've ever encountered. The excessively large bed frame had dangerous protruding corners, the kitchen counter had overhead shelving with dangerous protruding corners (which I hit my head on), the bedroom/living room had a dangerous deceptive window (which I walked into), and the bath had the typical hazardous step (prime for breaking a toe).
Overall, it's a nice place, but significant flaws exist that should be considered by anyone wanting to stay here.
