"This is an older resort hotel that has been very well maintained, surrounded by mature gardens that provide ample space for wildlife, shade and relaxation. There is a pool with a waterfall, a shaded bubble pool and tot area. One excellent restaurant on site and another right next door. The beach out front is coral tide pools that you can sit in, a short walk to the right brings you to a sandy beach with snorkelling and a little further to a beautiful curve for playing in the waves, all with very few people. Service in the hotel was excellent. Breakfast is delivered to your room at your preferred time and all of the staff were helpful and friendly. Simply delightful. "

"Umami is a gorgeous garden hotel! We loved our suites. The decor is just stunning. The staff is courteous and kind. Breakfast tasted amazing! We loved the rice and beans. The parking is minimal. However using bikes, a tuk tuk, or walking is the best way to get around this jungle beach town. Bring earplugs because the birds and other lodgings in the area may wake you up. As a Jamaican, I loved our culture mixed in. We loved Old Habour aka Puerto Viejo! We will definitely go back and stay at Umami again. "
