"I had a terrible experience with Villa 12 Guesthouse. I traveled a long way from US to Swiss (Villa 12 is on the border between Swiss and France), and had to work on the arriving day, so I got at the Villa 12 Guesthouse around 8:30pm, that is very normal time for a hotel/Guesthouse check-in time. But to my surprise, the main Gate of the Villa 12 is tightly closed, and the guesthouse building looks dark, did not seem there were people living in it. I pushed the door bell for over 10 minutes and...

"We stayed for 3 nights in December, the breakfast was good and never busy, staff checking us in wet friendly and polite and spoke multiple languages. The areas itself is ok, it's near a tram stop into the centre of Basel and within close enough proximity to local amenities such as the Co-op to stock up on some essentials for cooking. "The heat was too high and I was asked to send a pic of the thetmostat. I find it inadequate to ask a guest for a pic of something that should be your responsibility. Checkout time at 12 pm is too strict considering check-in is after 3 pm. There should be, at least, one hour tolerance. The coffee machine in my room kept spilling water for no reason."

"I've stayed at Hyperion in both my visits to Basel, Switzerland and I'll definitely stay here in the future. It's in a well connected neighborhood in terms of public transportation, dining options both inside and outside the hotel. They store your luggage for any number of days and that's a huge benefit.
