"We had a wonderful time! We fell in love with the 3 blue healers. Rocky, Shiner and Bebe. They were so sweet and we played with them a lot at night. The property is beautiful and out in nature. Loooved the outdoor shower. They have goats, chickens, roosters, it was so neat. James was so kind and he and helped us with directions to the local grocery store, Patek’s. It’s small but has everything you need. Also has great deli/butcher shop in the back. James also had a cheesecake waiting for us for...

"We all had a great time ; especially our granddaughters. James and Marty are excellent hosts. They took the time introduce all the animals to our granddaughters including the goats, chickens, turkey, rabbits and peacocks. The girls got to hold and feed a baby peacock. The accommodations were perfect for us. Thanks for the goat milk for Susan’s coffee. We highly recommend staying at the Byrd’s Nest."

"Group of us doing the local Texas River Marathon canoe race. This place is located in the middle of where we wanted to paddle. Four bedrooms with 1 bath took a little shuffling with 7 folks getting ready in the morning. Daughter works with horses at a boarding ranch at home. So she was a happy girl here. Nice and quite with plenty of room."

"This was the last stop on a tour of (part) of Texas for us. I'm a big shiner fan so we wanted to go there. This house is very close to the brewery and if it was almost 100 when we were gone ng, we would have walked the half mile or so. Two large rooms, bed was comfy to me. Carport is a bit narrow, but not a big deal, we were able to fit a 4runner in it, so most everything else this side of a dually should fit. We will definitely be using this house again next time we are in shiner!"

"Looking for a quality place in a small town and I hit the jackpot! The place was so spacious, incredibly clean and perfect location. We had 3 adults and 4 children ranging in age from 2-14. Everyone got their own bed. Highly recommend if you are going to be in the Shiner area. Owners are super nice! We will be returning!"
