"There is a lot of renovation going on at Reykjanes, but mostly that's on the exterior and doesn't affect the interior or your comfort in anyway. Don't let the exterior view of the building put you off. The place has an interesting history and they're building for the future. The small peninsula on which the hotel is located is interesting in itself with a salt factory, "hot beach", and of course the large hot pool. The setting and the views are pure Westfjords. It's a breathtaking one hour....or...

"This hostel lured us in with a cheap price and then tried to charge us for basic amenties. 2000 kr for a pillow and sheets? You gotta be kidding me. I ended up using the bed skirt as a sheet because I refused to pay. Everything else about the place was decent and it was clean although I didn't see another guest the whole time which was a bit off-putting. Pool looked nice if you want to pay for the showers."

"Hotel seemed to be newer or newly renovated, the rooms and bathrooms were very clean. We stayed in a family room which felt like a clean hostel and was very very tight/small. We seemed to be one of the only guest staying there which made it nice to use the small common space. They had a lot of rooms so I’m not sure how it would be if the hotel had a lot of guest. "Great location about 2 blocks from the main downtown street of this quaint fishing town. The staff were friendly but not entirely familiar with services supposedly offered (i.e. stamps and post services). The room was large and clean, and comfortable albiet spartanly furnished, with huge windows. However the curtains were far from black-out, and let in a fair amount of light. "to check in you have to call costing you an international roaming charge. check in information could easily be supplied by email. room was nice and clean. kitchen roomy. low rating is for bad check in process and there was NO toilet paper. also breakfast to be ready at 8am was no-where to be seen at 750am. so we left on empty stomachs... parking is "free" but you have to find street parking. no big issue tho. walkable to dinning options "
