"This Pousada was incredibly uniqe in terms of the decorations, room layouts and staff. Each room had a unique feature ie hammocks that couild be used outside it on a private porch with a beautiful view of the bay. The proximity to the water was a plus in the historic district as well as the short walking distances to the many restaurants and sites that Paraty has to offer. We cannot say enough about the staff, how kind and willing they all were to meet our every need. The phenomenal breakfast served is beyond description! Need more be said? Would definitely stay again!"

"This was a charming choice for our friends trip to Paraty! The staff were friendly and helpful, with lots of suggestions for restaurants and activities. The common spaces were gorgeous and welcoming. The pool and sauna were lovely. Breakfast was healthy and fresh. The rooms were smaller but plenty of space for two girls and their luggage. The beds were slightly smaller than their American versions (we had two twin beds and they were narrow) but comfy and clean. AC worked great. We checked out at noon, but did not have our transfer picking us up until 4 PM and the hotel graciously let us continue to have access to the pool and the sauna which had showers so that we could be fresh for our flight."

"Our stay at Carpe Diem was awesome, the attention and service are top notch. I loved the space and calm atmosphere, it was my first time in Paraty and the location of the hotel is excellent! Thank you for the hospitality, next time in Paraty I’m staying with you again"

"The public area is more wonderful and very well designed, the rooms were plain, not great. But the biggest problem is the service, the front desk lady was the worst. She said we had to pick a boat trip that day for the next day, and tried charge us over twice the price! She said she'd send the link, when she didn't we just walked over to the port after she gave us the wrong directions. We selected a boat and when we got on she kept texting me in capitals on WhatsApp what boat we were on. When I asked why she said she was worried about us. No doubt it was for commission. I never told her. Then the next day when we left the hotel she sent us a picture of a shattered TV and sai we broke it. When I pointed out that the layout of the room was not the same of as as ours and that wasn't even our room, instead of apologizing she just didn't reply. Judging by this I really wonder about her stability if they fire her, I would reconsider this hotel despite the plain rooms. Terrible experience."

"Really charming hotel. Very nice staff although not much English spoken, but manageable. We booked the suite to have more room Which was useful as it rained a lot. Very nice breakfast and Paraty itself is lovely "
