"Wonderful stay here, Friday 21st June, 2024. Cosy room, with all the facilities we required. Our room overlooked the river and outside drinking/dining area. This can be noisy, but it’s happy noise, adding to the atmosphere. We stayed one night as we were seeing a band at The Picturedrome, couldn’t be better placed for that. Great central place to stay for any other reason, too. The food we had was gold star stuff in our opinion, we had a dirty burger with sides a plaice with samphire,...

There was large function taking place which I was emailed about beforehand to let me know they had moved my room to be a little bit further away from the noise , howeve r we did not retune till midnight so it did not effect us . 10 out of 10 will recommend and stay again "

"The whole town is very compressed and tight for space. Part of the charm. The rooms at the Nook may not suit some people in terms of access as there are stairs to some of the rooms. Also quite noisy as very near a couple of pubs but if you accept this as part of the surroundings then its great. Room was good, bar and restaurant down stairs with excellent service in the evening and at breakfast. Would go again. "

We had a very warm welcome, all the staff were very friendly and the breakfasts and evening meals were excellent with lots of food options. Our room was cosy and very clean and comfortable. "We chose the G&C for an overnight stay after a day at Chatsworth House, due to its location and proximity to the house. The welcome was bright and warm, just like the rooms. The rooms were spacious and modern, well decorated and clean, with comfy beds and great facilities. Tea and coffee were good and the bathrooms were clean and tidy.
