The place was idyllic and peaceful -- just what we were looking for in a quiet holiday family retreat. There was plenty of kitchenware, towels, and linens for us for a few days. Hot tub was excellent and wifi was quick. It snowed about 4-6" over the first day we were there, and our car had trouble cresting the hilly gravel driveway with all the snow. But that's just our car, which doesn't have 4-wheel drive. Would love to see the space in the summer months!
The property was very clean. I had a very good time. Anything that you can imagine you need was provided. Hot tub is the best. Highly recommend this place
Very nice area. Family coming from out of town and needed more room so rented this place also to accommodate and it was right around the corner . Super clean place. Loved the hot tub. Serene property. Thanks so much for a great stay
Kitchen had every tool, grill was awesome. Hot tub, was great to watch the stars. Only thing I would have asked is a heads up on the neighbors letting their dogs run free. Beyond that, perfect stay.
This was a much needed trip and everything was amazing. Words can’t describe how nice it is. It’s my 2nd time going nd I’ll always be visiting this house.
Made good use of all of the amenities of the cabin including the hot tub, paddle boat, fishing rods, grill, fire pit, and kitchen utensils. Probably the first ones to turn on the furnace for the season as well and it kicked out heat in a hurry. Would strongly consider staying again.
Very pleased with this clean and spacious home! Tap water and ice cubes are perfect, hot tub is grand, Wi-Fi is a bonus. Loved the fire pit and happy for the large A/C unit to keep us humidity free inside! 10 out of 10!
The weather didnt cooperate. We only had one day where the weather was nice enough to use the hot tub, but it was fabulous. The house was nice, cozy and clean and had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. The bed was comfy, nice hot water and water pressure. Kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook. The bonus room in the garage was extremely nice even though we had no need for it, it would be nice if our grands come along next time. Would definately stay again and recomend to friends.
Very nice place with plenty of room and easy access to the Northern portion of Michigan. Nice view and a quiet neighborhood. I read another post that talked about the neighbors dogs but they were not a problem at all. They would bark but run away as fast as they could! LOL! Recommended!
This rental was perfect for my family (wife, three and five year old, our dog, and myself). Very accurate listing and one of the best stocked rentals we've stayed at. We enjoyed the property and the surrounding area. I'd recommend the Clear Lake state park day use area. The kids loved the beach and it's a nice lake for kayaking.
The only negative, at no fault of the owner, is the neighbor's dogs. They were often on the rental property and would aggressively bark at us. We didn't feel comfortable bringing our dog outside with us, even on a leash or the dog run leash that was provided. It was disappointing that he had to spend most of our week inside the cottage.

Disliked: Cleanliness, communication
Disappointed
After we got the key to the cabin, the owner showed up while we were running errands. We had no idea who he was or why he was in the cabin. The doors were wide open and the A/C was shut off (90* outside). I mentioned how unsettling that was to me by him coming into the cabin and there was no apology. Isn't that illegal?! What if my dog had been in there? There was a mouse that would run from the laundry room to the kitchen each night. The floors, and bathtub were not clean. A lot of ants on the kitchen sink. If you didn't dead lock the door it would push open even if the handle was locked.
It was a nice cabin over-all but there are too many variables that would prevent me from renting again. I couldn't afford another place to rent or I would have left. The door alarm I have is the only thing that gave me peace while I slept, which that wasn't good because I was afraid the mouse was going to crawl on me.
The neighbor's dog pooped in the yard, I hope I don't get charged for that. My dog never pooped there. Overall disappointing!
The property is beautiful and so is the cottage and bunkhouse. We had so much privacy it felt like our own little lake. If you like birds you will not be disappointed, we identified several species we have never seen before. It is very well kept, with nice furniture, appliances, and outdoor areas. Total Chef's kitchen for cooking and nice dining area. The artwork and finishing touches like carved light covers, lamps made from tree roots with wooden shades, and big chunky log bed frames. We were instantly at peace at this property, so quiet and serene you can't help but enjoy letting go of all the day to day worries and just be there. The paddle boat is challenging for one person and the lake level was fairly low. A kayak would be a better vessel for this lake in my opinion. Fantastic fire circle complete with a S'mores kit that we thoroughly enjoyed. We didn't fish but it has everything you need except for a license and bait. This cottage is a very good value for a more rural setting. We visited the Twin Stevens and Bruski Sinks. Mystery Valley with earth cracks. They are geological wonders that you won't want to miss. These hosts know what they are doing and it shows in many, many ways. I highly recommend this gem.
This cabin was perfect! Very clean, great location. The scenery was beautiful. It has all the amenities that you would need and more. I definitely want to come back
The cottage is just as advertised. This is our second fall staying. We take a yearly fall trip to play disc golf at Clear Lake park. The kitchen is fully stocked, beds and furniture are comfy, house was clean, property is beautiful. The hot tub is nice to relax after a day of disc golfing. We will be back again. Thank you.
This was a very Beautiful home to stay at. Everything was so nice, well maintained and great instructions for use of the place. Night sky in the peaceful hot tube was Amazing. Hope to book again.
We had a great visit and even saw the NORTHERN LIGHTS from the backyard dock. The dock was a great place to star gaze, listen to the owls, and enjoy the little lunar eclipse. We hiked and swam at nearby Ess Lake and ClearWater State Parks. The place was clean and adorable with all the up north decor and beautiful views of the lake.
