"Surprisingly great cottage accommodation near Auckland. Could be good for an extended stay, but we had only the one night. The property is in a recessed gully on the land, so suffers from poor mobile connectivity, and the on-site WiFi was no better in the specific cottage we had -- wouldn't do for us for a longer stay. Some of the other units (opposite side of the gully) may have better reception. Hosts were great, and we have only praise for everything else but the lack of decent internet."

"The Hut itself is somewhat tired and although you know its old and quirky we would find being there if the weather was wet & miserable pretty ugly! Plus the advertised "air conditioning" is 3 standing fans and 2 oil heaters. It also advertises coffee maker so we took [and brought back] some Nespresso capsules but the maker was a coffee pot for the electric plug-in desktop stove. As for the flat screen TV; its on the bedroom wall in the main building (not the outside bedroom) and needed...

"A beautiful location right on the water's edge, perfect for swimming and kayaking. Lovely big lawn for some backyard cricket. Older style lockwood bach which has everything you need. Angela from bachcare is brilliant too."

"Everything about Kereru Cottage outdid our expectations. Beautifully presented and maintained inside and out with everythjng we could possibly need for our 6 night stay. Appreciated the comfy bed & cotton sheets. The surroundings of native & exotic trees frequented by native birdlife including ruru at night made us forget we were only minutes from a busy motorway. Would thoroughly recommend. "

"Gay and Jon were lovely!We stayed for six weeks the cottage was so cute with everything you need and a pleasant veranda!It’s very peaceful, short walk to a great quiet beach and you can walk to the shopping area but I would recommend a car as you really need one.We loved it!!"

This was the perfect home for her and the extended family was able to pop in before the ceremony to say hello. Plenty of lovely deck space to spread out on without getting under each other's feet."
