"Brilliant stay again at the Windmill. Dinner was superb. Room was quiet and well cared for. Like many places it could do with a spruce up but the quality of service and wonderful environment make up for any minor blemishes. Food was amazing. We were staying for St Val’s night and thought it might affect our stay but it was a delicious dinner. Whenever I see a lot of options on a menu I’m concerned the quality might be mediocre. Not here. The quality of the cooking always seems to have been excellent whenever we’ve visited. "

"Absolutely fabulous stay. The lovely staff and the grandeur of the hotel made this an exceptional experience. We used the hotel as a base for a very quiet wedding at the local registry office. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very special and nothing was too much for the friendly staff who went above and beyond to make sure our every wish was catered for. The room was delightful, furnished in keeping with the hotel. It was very comfortable and we felt at home immediately. The hotel offered a lovely menu with plenty of options which would cater for most palettes. The service was exceptional , with special requests catered for to suit all. The grounds were beautiful and enchanting offering the very best of splendour surrounded by the tranquillity of nature. We had access to a heated pool and enjoyed leisurely swims to suit our timetable. I would highly recommend this hotel for those wishing for some peace and serenity in a picturesque setting. It offered a sense of escapism and made me feel like the protagonist in a wonderful romance novel. Definitely suitable for a special occasion, weddings , anniversaries ect. The hotel is child and dog friendly, which in our view added to the friendliness and character bringing the hotel to life. What more can I say except thank you to Ickworth Hotel for a beautiful and memorable stay."
