"A friendly greeting and offer of help with our luggage was a great start. This is a modern hotel with superb views over the Salcombe Estuary. The room was very comfortable with all as you would expect. Mini bar, tea making, coffee pod machine etc Complimentary Salcombe gin and tonic on arrival plus ice delivered each night was great. The staff were excellent and helpful. A great Spa and pool. High standards set by friendly staff"

"Breakfast was as good if not better than many of the top hotels. The lighting in the room (121) was too dim. The bathroom did not have enough flat surfaces to hold all the toiletries. Staff were excellent and very attentive. I would use the hotel again and would recommend it highly."

"Rating based entirely on the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff and the fantastic spa facilities. There was work going on while we were there which was a minor inconvenience but the room we stayed in was the real let down. Dated and uncared for. The bathroom was poorly finished and the shower was not the cleanest. The flooring was lifting and squishy in places and the room itself smelt of damp. "Not quite sure it meets 5 star standard. Room space is lovely, plush and beds super comfy. Bathroom quite basic but shampoo etc provided. Spa ok but could with refurb now as facilities dated. One if the steam rooms out of order. Large glass door smashed and awaiting repair. Loungers by pool were soggy and stank. Lifts up to the spa all out of order Breakfast was the highlight. Ok hotel but nothing special. "
