"I absolutely loved my stay here. I stayed two separate nights during my travels and these cottages are so well equipped for a home away from home. Everything you could want is provided, they really have thought of everything. The cottages were beautiful, clean, comfortable and the views were stunning! They have plugs for EV cars at each cottage too which is a bonus for people driving e cars. I got to meet one of the owners, she was lovely. I can’t recommend this place enough, it’s a must stay...

"I loved this cottage and was so sad to leave! I have never stayed at such a comfortable and cozy place. We arrived late at night and it was such a breath of fresh air walking into the cottage. Everything was just perfect. The beds and bedding were so comfortable. We were close to the golden circle and south coast so a slow exploration of the area was possible. "

"Beautiful home, great location, loved the sauna. Only 2 of the 3 beds were made before our party arrive so we had to hunt for the extra bedding but non issue in the end. Great coffee, shower and heated floors awesome! Highly recommend "

"Cute, cozy cottage located in rural Iceland. Beautiful scenery around the cottage including a small waterfall nearby. Would have been excellent spot to view northern lights, unfortunately the weather didn’t work out for us. Would definitely recommend to others!"

"Lovely cabin :well appointed: comfortable bed. But long drive from town 28km and half of it is (currently) a gravel road. It’s a beautiful place. We walked across field to waterfall. Views of the volcano. Nice respite but know you have a drive from the highway/town"

"Staying here is like staying in the Icelandic Highlands, only you’re only about 15 km from Hella (grocery store, fuel, other amenities). The cottage is spotless and has everything you’ll need for a great night (or several nights)! I wish I had known about Afternoon Cottages sooner so we could have stayed longer, but I’m pretty certain we’ll be back!"

"Loved staying here. We only had one unplanned surprise. We may have missed this in the listing but the instructions ask you to take all your trash with you. We drove hours with our son holding a full bag of trash until we found a place to dispose of it. We actually named our bag since he travelled with us for so long. Other than our bag of trash, it was a nice stay."

"A beautiful, peaceful, restorative place. Perfect for viewing Northern Lights. Host was amazing and let us stay late on our last day when my son was sick. Very understanding and kind. "

"We had a great experience here for our short stay in Hella. It’s conveniently located to see all of the southern coast of Iceland in day trips. The farm is nice, peaceful and quiet. You can see the volcano Hekla from here which is amazing."

"We couldn't of ask for anything better! Perfect location, out in the country yet close to horseback riding and white water rafting. A cute store near by and Secret Lagoon less than 10 minutes away. The house was so cozy and stocked with all sorts of cooking supplies. The deck and the hot tub were great. The host was awesome and shared with us places to visit and restaurants to try. Absolutely loved everything."

"Such a lovely, unique experience staying in a private ‘igloo’. Everything about the igloo has been well thought through. There are 3 heaters and electric mattress warmers to ensure warmth in the cold months. They were very effective. If the Northern Lights had been visible during our stay, we would have had the perfect view. Unfortunately, it was raining and very windy but I can now guarantee that the igloos are completely wind and rain proof!! There is more room inside the igloo than I’d...
