"We had a perfectly good stay at the Dog and Partridge, but the accommodation didn’t transpire to be what we expect. We were anticipating a cozy room, in a country pub setting but, in reality, the D&P offers good value, chalet-style family rooms, each with it’s own car port, in a large area behind the pub itself. "Lovely stay with excellent staff who were very welcoming and attentive during our one night stay. The accommodation was clean and well presented, although a little tired in places, which was absolutely fine for our stay. The bed was a small double, which was a little soft for my liking, although other reviews say the beds were great, so very much a personal preference. "The Red Lion was a lovely for me and my partner, we had an amazing stay. The staff at the pub were lovely, especially Aviva who was so friendly and helpful in the restaurant. I give four stars only because the price was a little unreasonable for the time of year (mid-November) when many local attractions are closed. Otherwise I could not recommend this place enough for a lovely weekend break. "
