The service staff is exceptional. We had dinner at the nearby Mitu restaurant and the restaurant charged us twice which I think was an honest mistake. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed for the next two days which meant we couldn't contact the restaurant re the double charge as we were scheduled to move on to the next city on our tour. We approached the hotel staff to see if they could contact the restaurant on our behalf to get them to check the restaurant records. They were very helpful and the counter staff volunteered to go over to the restaurant when it reopen for business after the two day break to explain the situation to the restaurant. Anyway in short, the hotel staff was able to get the restaurant to reverse one of the charge. BTW the food at Mitu was excellent and well worth a visit.
Hot spring was nice. Breakfast had warm homemade tofu. 25 minutes walk from station. We left our luggage in Hashimoto coin locker instead of hotel to visit Koyasan.
The staff was extremely friendly. If I didn’t understand something, they took the time to explain. I also asked if there were any bicycle rentals in the area and they offered me their hotel bicycle. I also got up super early before the coffee was normally available and they allowed me to get some before the normal. I definitely want to come back next year around the same time. I felt very cared for. 💖🤗

This was a stopover on the way to Koyasan and it was good overall. Close to train station if young to walk 30 minutes.Lots of restaurants nearby and convenience store 10 minutes. Check in counter staff friendly but do not speak English. No one in Hashimoto speaks English not even tourist info across from train station-so not tourist friendly but people nice.
This hotel has a huge advantage as it is virtually the only hotel in Hashimoto - I believe there is a hostel in the town but that's about it. Having said that, the hotel is relatively new, very well maintained and was pleasure to stay at (3 nights). Hashimoto is by no means a tourist town and there is little to offer in terms of traditional tourism sites. There is a gigantic Pachinko parlour within view and easy walking distance from the hotel (WINGS) if that interests you. Even if pachinko is not your thing there is quite a good little eating place inside that offers very reasonably priced meals - obviously well subsidised by the players using the machines. I used Hashimoto as a base to visit temples at Kudoyama and Mt Koyasan. Both are readily accessible by local rail (non JR pass) and the cost of staying in Hashimoto is far, far less than the "temple experience" at Koyosan. The only drawback with this hotel is that it is 1.6km from the joint local and JR station. Also for great local eating the sushi train resturant is literally directly across the road and is very reasonably priced.
As with most Route Inns, the standard layout is the same. The location is about 1.8 km (1.1 miles) from the Hashimoto train station. Plan on a level, 35 minute walk. Microwave available for guest use. Breakfast was standard. Nothing exceptional.
Lovely & helpful staff, cute archery lobby display, great buffet bfast.
Slow, 75minute train trip to Koyasan - thru gorgeous pine forest. But Koyasan disceptively distant.
Just off the train plaza was a great small, local bar/restaurant, but few services after 7pm.
The town of Koya had no food after 6pm.
$7 taxi to hotel.
