"No-one was on the check-in desk when we arrived and we had to go and fetch someoe from the bar to check us in. The breakfast service was slow. Otherwise, the hotel was lovely, well decorated and clean, comfy bed and brilliant location "

"Really enjoyed our stay in the oldest hotel in England. It was full of character with a comfortable bed and the staff were really friendly. The breakfast was amazing and set us up for the day and we would certainly return."

"Lovely hotel The annexe area is very tired and the bathrooms need updating. The spa was ok but could benefit from an upgrade and maybe some soft relaxing music in the treatment rooms. The staff were ok. No one ‘went the extra mile’ let’s say. Staff need to be more customer focused at times felt like they were putting themselves out to accommodate us when it should be that nothing was too much trouble especially in the spa. This didn’t spoil our stay though. "
