I really wish I could give this hotel a good review, but it’s more of a caution.
First, the good: The hotel is within 10mins walk to the main restaurant areas, we always felt safe, and the room was clean when we arrived. The pool area and grounds were picturesque and seemed to be well taken care of. Finally, the two young teens who made our breakfast every morning were delightfully charming and sweet. They would have been a highlight if they hadn’t been the only people we interacted with on the property.
The problems: There was no “front desk” (not unusual for a small property) and aside from writing down our passport numbers in a ledger upon checking in, we never spoke to another adult in the five nights we were there. Seems that the owner was generally not on site and had left the care of her guests and troubleshooting to the young girls. Felt like unwanted house guests left to busy ourselves with the kids.
There was no hot water and no one to ask about it. On our last morning there we got some hot water which didn’t last for an entire shower.
We had ZERO housekeeping. There was only one small (1 gallon) garbage can in the room to collect used toilet paper that was not to be flushed. It was overflowing by day two. Super gross.
The pool did not have lounge chairs, just broken dining chairs. No air conditioning, or fans, or screened windows to leave open at night.
We ran out of TP twice and never had our towels refreshed. After 5 days the hand towel was pretty grimy.
