"A very pleasant stay in a beautiful area. A good location for walks in the south of the peak district, particularly up to Hen's Cloud and the Roaches, Gradbach Mill and Lud's Church, and a little further away Miller's Dale & Chee Dale gorge. Nice to have a welcoming couple of slices of homemade cake and a jug of fresh milk on arrival. The accommodation was comfortable and had everything we needed. The mobile service (EE) is not the best from within the cottage through the solid stone walls...

"The house was stunning. Spotlessly clean and very well stocked with everything we might have needed. Very quiet location but still close to Alton Towers - which was the purpose of our visit. Inez was friendly and helpful. Could not have been better and we would all be very happy to visit again."

"Excellent cottage, clean,comfortable and homely, many people would be upset because of lack of phone signal or internet but made it for me real peace and quiet, Excellent kitchen is well equipped with pots pans,cutlery, drink making facilities, and the views from the cottage are outstanding. "

"Fantastic little cottage and the attention to details was great!!! The owners supplied milk, coffee, tea and chocolate chip muffins which were very much welcomed after a long drive. Location was brilliant and very close to Alton Towers (5 mins drive) and the suggested walks around the area were very relaxing. All in all we had a fantastic and relaxing time staying in this cottage. Definitely will be back and recommend to family and friends."

"I live near Southampton and run a company based near Stoke and this is my favourite perch; the kitchen lets me eat normally as I tend to keep strange hours. Just right size and facilities for me. Could just as well be a perch for a countryside break. Highly recommended "

"We booked the cottage for a week's stay whike work was being done on our home. It was a real home from home too. Everything's there, including electric blankets to warm the beds. Although thd heating kept the cottage toasty, we turned most off except living room and bathroom. Loved the log burner too, a real focal point. Internet provided was good, a bonus as the phone signal there is poor, as is most of the local area due to hills etc. Would certainly recommend."
