"I was not expecting to pay for parking, this was not mentioned at the time of booking so I do not know if this is a Hotels.com issue or the hotel. It’s becoming a recurring theme of late which to me when you’re paying over £100 (usually between £110 and £140) room only, at locations with plenty of parking spaces is a stealth tax. Staff in the reception and bar area did not seem to know if I could eat in the bar or the restaurant. As a sole traveller I prefer the bar area so I can catch up on...

"We really enjoyed our time at the hotel and had a wonderful stay here - we're looking forward to coming back! The rooms were clean, well supplied and spacious, the staff are all incredibly helpful, friendly and kind. I was very impressed at how efficiently the hotel is run. By booking through Expedia we had breakfast included which I highly recommend - good food and sets you up for the day. Thank you so much for having us!"

"Nice basic hotel, convenient location, friendly staff. Room was ok but small for a family of 4, there was a bit of rubbish in room under sofa bed and bathroom was dusty but it was ok. Beds were a bit uncomfy, especially sofabed as dipped at the end, alright for smaller children!"

"Fishermans Cot is situated in a truly beautiful position beside the River Exe. Many of the roads in the area are very narrow and demading, especially if you are unable to occasionally reverse on meeting a caravan in tow or a wide vehicle. Food at the hotel was good in quality apart from the Continental Breakfast that had a poor and very limited variety of items. Staff were very friendly and attentive; accommodation warm, clean and comfortable and overall value and eg bar prices competitive. "

"Ive stayed here a couple of times now. Clean and friendly service. From the guy who books you in to the lovely lady who serves breakfast (she is a real gem). Even a young lad who came in to work this morning was singing. Lovely atmosphere, lovely stay. Thank you. I will be back."

"The hotel was clean tidy, and only the occasional noise from other guests moving around the hotel. We had a room at the back, away from the busy main road, so it was very quiet. Situated in the centre of Dorchester, about a 10 minute walk from the train station. A good choice of places to eat nearby."
