While it is technically "walkable" at 0.5 miles, we were highly encouraged by the concierge NOT to use this trail to access the beach as it was unsafe and no longer recommended by any of the area hotels/complexes. Pretended to give us a complementary night but it was outside of our booking spot (before we were scheduled to arrive) No housekeeping or any services and wants to charge you for anything extra. "This property perhaps is best appreciated by thinking of it as a 'condo ' rather than a posh resort. Very well run, clean, close attention to detail, free parking, loaner beach gear etc. If you are expecting water slides and a lazy river...no. Medium sized pool w/ hot tub that we rarely shared w/ anyone. Do note that the upstairs neighbors were loud -- early (4 and 5 am) in spite of 'quiet time'. We complained once and then let it go... Great home base to Hanalei and local beaches. "

We stayed in the Bougainvillea building on the 1st floor corner room, where our ground floor patios faced the side edge of the pool, but also faced the gorgeous abundant mountain range.
