Our stay in Hearland Hotel Haast was great. Perfect place to stay for a layover between Hokitika and Wanaka/Queenstown. Staff was friendly, bed was very comfortable and the location was good being on the way to Haast Beach. Wifi was a bit slow, but we managed. There is not much to do in Haast, but you will for sure have a great night of sleep. Would recommend.

This is an older style motel where you drive up and park in front of your rental. The units are spacious and beds were super comfortable. A lot of upgrading has been done. Would definitely stay there again.

Had a very enjoyable 2 night stay. The room was clean, quiet, roomy enough, and comfortable. The restaurant served delicious food and had a very lively atmosphere. We met lots of interesting travellers and local people at the Haast hotel, it was a rich cultural experience.

The property was in beautiful location, the bar/cafe was convenient. Great car parking and we were lucky to have a picnic table outside our room.The water dripping out of toilet into a bucket was a concern, as was the noise of the bathroom fan.

Haast is an extremely small town. Accommodation was adequate and the property owners are making a good effort to make visitors feel welcome.

This is an old hotel. Staying there, you are going a generation back in time, perhaps reflecting Haast itself. The hotel, however, is very clean. The staff is super friendly. The hotel hosts a restaurant, where locals seem to like to hang out. The food and beer are good, the atmosphere is chilled, and there is a pool table!!Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it!

Pleasant stay, good value
Good value, nice beach and only just 4 minutes in the car, comfortable bed, plenty of room, the lady at reception was very welcoming and helpful, the barman needs a personality transplant, very sour faced, meals were ok and good value, on the whole a pleasant stay, the only real negative is I thought the room could do with a bit of TLC, but for the price I suppose that’s what you get

First time visiting Haast and we loved this place. The view from our room, straight into greenery and mountains. We loved it and will definitely be back again as the last trip was a spontaneous last minute plan. We loved it. And the restaurant/bar was great too with lovely staff.
