Bizarre, unpleasant and outdated hotel, Good location but : - it is near cathedral which ring the bells every half an hour - same building : hotel private appartements - it has a commun interior court which is noisy until 3:AM and start again at 5:00 AM - difficult sleep - too much noisy Room : - has carpet which is not clean - see photos - has a decent size - rooms are bad isolated - has safe box and a kettle for instant coffee or tea - no fridge - inconfortable bathroom for towels - room has not AC only fans - heat is ok TV - Monday to Friday has only few dutch channels. WiFi is ok. Reception it is unwelcome with foreign tourists it is like they don’t want us ??? Conclusion : - unpleasant - noisy - overpriced - dated We stayed 3 nights and we regretted. We had a wonderful stay! The staff was very friendly, location was fantastic and lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. About a 10 minute walk to the train station. Would stay here again!

Very well located, across from the Cathedral. The dining room and lobby were very nice, the room was small, clean. However the hallways were not looking good. Even though there is a lift, we still needed to carry the bags up to a very steep staircase.

Can’t beat the location but the rooms are horrible. Crammed with cheap furniture, dirty and barely maintained. No air conditioning. Had to sleep with windows open and got bit by bugs. Overall I would never stay there again.

Convenient location, but dated, dirty, & loud
This hotel is conveniently located, but very dated and our room was dirty, as were the hallways, where the carpet was stained. Our room was infested with tiny ants, too. There is no AC, and they did provide fans, but they worked intermittently. We were placed in a room facing the church, and since we had to have the windows open, we heard people partying all night. Cigarette smoke wafted into our room, and the church bells rang on the hour. Also, please note that though there is an elevator, accessing the rooms requires several flights of stairs, which was difficult with our luggage. The staff were very kind and helpful and the restaurant and lobby look very nice, which is why we were surprised at the poor quality of the room.

The staff is helpful and friendly. The location cannot be beat. Plenty of restaurants, shopping, amenities around. The breakfast was wonderful. Included eggs (scrambled and boiled), bacon and sausage, mushrooms, and pancakes. Variety of breads, donuts, granola, yogurt and fruits. Self services coffee machine for cappuccino and lattes. Our room was a little dated but that did not make it any less comfortable. The kettle in the room was wonderful for making coffee in our room in the morning. The hotel was prompt with our request for extra pillows and coffee as well as towels. This was very much appreciated. This is only of the only hotels in Haarlem with a gym. It’s nothing glamorous and appears to double as a storage space but it got the job done. There’s a treadmill, stairstepper, free weight dumbbells, smith machine, and total body weight machine. I highly recommend this hotel and appreciate how attentive the staff was to our needs.

According to a very rude receptionist none of the family rooms can be reached by elevator alone. All require the guests to climb 12 to 20 steep and narrow steps. I am 70. That was not really a great option. Both rooms had dirty carpet and worn furniture. There is no ac. Leaving the window open gets one fresh air but also a lot of noise from restaurants and bars plus an array of bugs. Overprized and dated
